Using Cacti for monitoring other data

I don't have Cacti yet, but was wondering - does it allow users to retrieve and graph data from a file as opposed to using SNMP to graph device data?

I want to graph certain data from an MSSQL database and could easily export that data to a flat file, but I was hoping that the cacti interface would make it easy to read that data into rrdtool and produce graphs.

All day long. You just need as Data Input Method (aka Script) to retrieve it.
