cacti cannot walk thru oid

Post by chemichon »

Hi,

My cacti 0.8.6h was running fine until I had the need to add graphs for a switch and linux box.

When I click on "Create Graphs for this Host" cacti says, on the interface box: This data query returned 0 rows, perhaps there was a problem executing this data query. You can run this data query in debug mode to get more information.

Then I tried to run the data query in debug mode, and it says:
+ Running data query [2].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/home/httpd/intranet/cacti-0.8.6h/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.9.1.1'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at '/home/httpd/intranet/cacti-0.8.6h/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/home/httpd/intranet/cacti-0.8.6h/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/home/httpd/intranet/cacti-0.8.6h/resource/snmp_queries/net-snmp_disk.xml'

If I try to snmpwalk the switch and linux box from shell, it works finely.

I tried to add a router that was already in the devices list, and I have the same problem.

What may I look for?

Thank you

Open a shell from the cacti poller and see if you can walk it from there. Your snmp.conf file may limit which hosts can access the snmp agents data. Check it's config file for restrictions.

How do I open a shell from the cacti poller?

This problem occurs when I try to add any host, so it doesnt seem to be related to snmpd.conf.

Thank you,

You do not know how to open a shell (Command prompt, Terminal)? Do you know how to use snmpwalk?
