Perl-Based cmd.php Replacement for cacti 0.8.x ??

Post by christiaan »

hi,
Can someone tell me if the perl version (spine.pl) of cmd.php is also working for cacti 0.8X ?

I am running cacti on sun solaris 8, monitoring > 700 OIDs on the moment, but this is just a testing environment. I need to monitor > 5000 OIDs.
The current 700 OID takes 400 ~ 440 sec.

I need to bring this time back !!

If I need a lot of OIDs from one device is there a way to use bulk SNMP ?

why dont u use cactid?
more more faster than cmd.php. I have 861 rrd files and when I use cmd.php it takes 60 min to complete. But cactid does same job in 15 sec.

I'm afraid, spine.pl won't work with cacti0.8.x
I just tried to do this and got an error saying that script can't find some tables.
I just compared sql tables and saw that they are different in versions 0.6.x and 0.8.x
So, decided to implement cactid.
