Arris C4 CMTS Modem per Upstream count

Post by Kernelde »

Hi

I'm trying to graph the amount of modems which are on an Upstream. I have the OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.4998.1.1.20.2.12.1.6.downstreamid.upstreamid), but you have two variables in the OID. When I do a snmpwalk on .1.3.6.1.4.1.4998.1.1.20.2.12.1.6 I get the data I need.
I tried to get it solved via a SNMP indexed query, but I could not find any solution. Has anybody any experiance with this topic and can give me a hint how to solve this problem?

Thanks!!!

Hi All,

I am trying to do the same as this person has posted above so I did not bother to create a new topic. I am also trying to graph FEC, SNR and Offline modem count for each upstream interface on the Arris Cadant C4 CMTS.

So far I can successfully graph the Online Modem Count and the Offline Modem counts successfully ( though this is a tedious process). I use the generic SNMP template to pull the data for each interface (that means going through the process of entering each upstreams' OIDs).

I have searched this forum and 'googled' for a C4 Template without success. I am hoping someone has created a template for the C4 that i could use as i've failed miserably at trying to make the C3 and UBR templates work for me (i'm a noob so i may just be going about it all wrong)

I attempted to graph the SNR by polling for the oid values i recieve from snmpget but the graph seems to be coming out with incorrect readings. I am getting readings no higher than 1.x dB it seems when I should be getting something in the region of 34dB. I need some help with this PLEASE:

I am very open to suggestions. Thank you!

If you know the OID(s) then first run a snmpwalk on it against the CMTS. The n just duplicate the existing templates and change the OID as needed.

Hi

the OID I use is : .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.1.2.1.2
You will need to use the CDEF "multiply by 0,1" to get the right value.

Hope this helps.

Ok, so whats the problem since you know the OID? modify the existing template to use the new OID.
