Adding multiple hosts or devices

Hello,

I have one question. I'm already using cacti for my network monitornig for switches and cisco cmts on my system. I love cacti, but I would like to use it for cable modems. I need to monitor about 10.000 cable modems and adding hosts to cacti one by one would mean a lot of work and too much time spent.

I already have all the hosts in a seperate mysql database. Do you have any idea how to implement this hosts into cacti mysql.

I noticed that this guy has also written add_graphs.php but I can't find this script anywhere. Have any ideas where to get it?

Hello again,

Now I created 13405 hosts for cacti and now I have a problem with rrds. If I create graph per host rrds are not created. When I had 300 hosts it worked properly. Have any Ideas?

Might be performance issue. 13k is a hell of a lot hosts. I have 100hosts, 2670 data sources, 1 minute polling interval. Encountered performance issues somewhere around 1500 data sources, SCSI 10k RPM HDD could not manage update rate of those RRD files. Added 4gigs of memory just for disk cache so only RRD updates are written.

I droped the cacti database and added 400 users. Now I have problem with script add_graphs.php. It adds graphs I can see it under graph managment, but poller doesn't create any rrds so I created it manualy but poller doesn't update rrds not even if I clear poller cache. I can see this rrds in poller cache so I don't have any ideas why it doesn't update them.
