Tab Image

Post by adrianmarsh »

Does anyone have the details of how the tab images are created (eg tab_cacti.gif). I've like to create a tab of my own, but a starting blank image would be good (pre-text), and maybe an idea of what font/size is used as standard in the text ?

Close - I'm looking for the top-row buttons (Graphs/Console) etc. I've noticed the PHPWeathermap one doesn't match the rest when viewed at certain colour resolutions, and I also want to produce my own.

I don't see the original clean graphic in the svn, so hence my posting.

The cactiusers.org ones are close, but I don't have photoshop, and the examples there already have the text in them. All I need is the basic backdrop image, and the font details.

The PHPWeathermap image is a PNG, which doesn't look good under IE. The images on my site use Photoshop (with layers so you can easily change the text). I could probably import them into The Gimp for you, or just say the backdrop to a GIF for you. I am really unsure of the "original" text that was used in the Cacti images, and I just kinda play with what looks good in the size I need.

I've given up on the idea of modern standards for the next release, and the tab is now a transparent GIF, 1989-style. Look out for a Curses vt100-based editor for version 1.0, and a COBOL Plugin API for 1.1.

I used Cigamit's Photoshop template with no trouble (aside from the PNG thing). You do need to load it into actual Photoshop to be able to edit the text layer though, as far as I know.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

Cigamit,

I don't have Photoshop, so if you could provide it in something like Gimp that'd be great.

Sorry adrianmarsh, the original images are in Photoshop format. I will post them anyway though in case someone is interested.

Darn... GIMP does recognise the .psd's, but doesn't open them right.

Not perfect, but better than the original in IE.
