Cactid 0.8.6g - SNMP Port Issue?

Post by CPF »

Hi,

I've recently tried cactid 0.8.6g, but it appears to have some issues with Hosts that use a non-standard SNMP port.

These were the errors in the log:

02/02/2006 03:40:05 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[27] DS[232] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.112'
02/02/2006 03:40:05 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[27] DS[230] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.112'
02/02/2006 03:40:05 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[27] DS[231] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.112'
02/02/2006 03:40:05 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[27] DS[227] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.112'

02/02/2006 03:40:05 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[27] DS[228] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.112'
02/02/2006 03:40:05 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[27] DS[229] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.112'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2081] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2079] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2080] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2076] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2082] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2077] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'
02/02/2006 03:40:29 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[162] DS[2078] WARNING: SNMP timeout detected [1000 ms], ignoring host '192.168.103.113'

And these 2 Hosts both have their SNMP Ports set to: 1161

The previous version that we we're using (0.8.6e) works fine.

The details of the Server running cacti is:

Windows 2000 SP4
Cacti 0.8.6h (+ patches)
Cactid 0.8.6g
PHP 5.0.4
Net-SNMP 5.2.1
MySQL 4.1.10
Apache 2.0.54

It's not a huge issue as the previous poller works great. Just wanted to see if anyone else had seen a similar problem.

Cheers,

Graham.

That's no good. Please PM me for some more personal attention. I will need a database dump.

This issue has been resolved in SVN. I have provided a pre-built binary for Windows to test.

I get exactly the same problem but with cactid 0.8.6g compiled on Solaris.
Does the sources of a fixed version exists ?
It seems this problem has only been fixed on Windows env.

Yes, the SVN corrects this issue in SVN as well. However, the current cactid may not be stable, especially in Solaris 8 (aka 2.8) due to threading issues with that version of Solaris.

There appears to be some boot parameters in the Solaris kernel associated with the threading environment that may cause/rectify the issues that users have been experiencing in Cactid. I still need a test box and someone knowlegable with Solaris to resolve that issue. The patch in SVN did not do it.
