Polling data every 120 seconds

Post by CoolTom »

If I want polle data for one graf every 120s and second 300s:

I change STEP to 120s in Data Templates -- Data Source, RIGHT?

AND have to I change scheduler for starting poller from every 5minutes to every 2minutes too?
-Can i change this value when graphs were generate every 300s before?
-How can I set: "save data in resolution 120s for forever" (not weekly - 30minutes average, atc.) ... to be able zoom in month or year graph to 120s resolution ...

Thnx Tom

This will not affect already existing data sources. You'll have to rrdtool tune them

Find part of the answer in the appropriate link of my signature (resizing ...).
Otherwise, you have to change the rra definitions (found underneath Data Sources). If you want to only leave one single rra, you won't get those nice four graphs anymore (when clicking on the primary graph, all 4 rra's are graphed by default). And you'll have to pay attention when importing Templates, as they most often bring rra defintions of standard type that would overwrite your changes ...
Not to mention huge rrd file sizes ... Find more in the linked topic ...
There's also a good chance, that data will be misinterpreted (see other rrdtool related links of my signature), but this depends ...
