Upgraded 0.68 to 0.82. New graphs work. Old graphs do not.

Post by David »

Hi all,
I upgraded my cacti today from 0.68 -> 0.82. Everything went smoothly.
When prompted, I told Cacti that I was upgrading from 0.68 and it proceeded to import all my old settings into the new database.
Once I had finished, all the Data Sources and graphs were present. Cool, i thought.

I then took the new UI for a test drive and created a new graph for the Network Interface of one of my Mirapoint machines. Graph was created successfully and the Data Source was created. The graph started to populate with data.

After 1 hr I noticed all the other graphs were not continuing to update.

A glance at the rrd.log indicated that only the "NEW" graph + data source I created AFTER I upgraded was being checked.

If I manually run: > php cmd.php ( as the appropriate user ) it only checks the 4 new datasources I added. It displays no logging whatsoever about all the other data sources.

My question : WHATS WRONG !! :D

Seriously, is there something somewhere I have to switch on for all other data sources to be checked ?

Also, am I able to view the results of the Data Source ? ( like I was able to do in 0.68 under "Data Sources -> Edit Data"

Pls respond with any requests for further info ( or answers )

Cheers

I have not yet tested a 0.6.8->0.8.2 upgrade, but I can already forsee problems with this. There are certain table changes that have been made between 0.8 and 0.8.2 that the importer does not take into account. My recommendation would be to upgrade from 0.6.8 to 0.8, and then upgrade to 0.8.2.

Hi,

I did what raX suggested but the graphs still don't show up. I'm surprised that it worked for David but it didn't for me. It seems that cacti is polling ok but the graph still don't come up. Any ideas? Thanks.
