Load Average - Examples?

Post by tclaydon »

Hello,

Does anyone have an example of the "Load Average" function, and how you set it up? I've got several graphs that could use this, but I haven't seen a good explanation of how to implement it.

Thanks,

= TC

with the out-of-the-box install of Cacti, this should be working right off the bat

if it's not, check that perl is installed and working. Make sure you can run

perl <path_cacti>/scripts/loadavg_multi.pl

it's local only. if you want to get the load average of a remote host you'll need to either setup snmp in some capacity to supply the load average numbers, or drop an agent (like netsaint_statd) on the remote host to supply the data upon a query.
-so it goes
