Before making any changes i get these in the log:

but still weathermap doesnt refesh & running "php poller.php" it does.

any idea why weathermap doesnt refresh with poller?
Try checking the permissions of the png/html files in your output folder. If you ran the poller as a user other than your 'cactiuser' then the files will be owned by the wrong user (e.g. root) and the poller won't be able to overwrite them in normal use. I'm not certain that the current plugin would detect that situation.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

This font stuff is because you have FONTDEFINE lines in your config file that refer to fonts that don't exist. If you are trying to use the example.conf then you'll need to copy the .ttf and .png files into the main weathermap folder, or you will get a lot of these errors. It won't stop the map being drawn though - it just means (as it says) that weathermap will use the built-in GD fonts where you asked it to use the non-existent font.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

I am not using the example.conf . I create one from scratch ;)
Anyway, that isnt important :)

Any idea why weathermap isnt udpated with cacti poller?

That should work. The logs say it works. The date on the files makes it look like they are created OK, too. It's strange.

Is it possible that your browser is caching in some strange way? Maybe with a proxy? Could you verify that the file dates don't change when the poller runs? (i mean with 'ls', rather than looking in Cacti).

There should be some kind of error somewhere if it was failing... since it works from a command-line poller run, my feeling is still with permissions somehow. Try chowning the output folder to your cactiuser? Have a look in your Apache error log?

This isnt an proxy issue. I have excluded lcoal addresses from proxy ;)
The file dates & sizes arent changing before and after poller is running

In apache log the only error i see is this:
[Sat May 06 23:22:59 2006] [error] [client 10.19.140.13] File does not exist: /var/www/cacti/plugins/weathermap/images/auth_login.gif, referer: hxxp://cacti.skilla.awmn/plugins/weathermap/weathermap-cacti-plugin.php
[Sat May 06 23:22:59 2006] [error] [client 10.19.140.13] File does not exist: /var/www/cacti/404.html, referer: hxxp://cacti.skilla.awmn/plugins/weathermap/weathermap-cacti-plugin.php
[Sat May 06 23:23:26 2006] [error] [client 10.19.140.13] script '/var/www/cacti/plugins/weathermap/graph_view.php' not found or unable to stat, referer: hxxp://cacti.skilla.awmn/plugins/weathermap/weathermap-cacti-plugin.php
[Sat May 06 23:23:26 2006] [error] [client 10.19.140.13] File does not exist: /var/www/cacti/404.html, referer: hxxp://cacti.skilla.awmn/plugins/weathermap/weathermap-cacti-plugin.php
However, this error isnt produced by the poller (i cleared the log and waited the poller to run again)

Then I guess you are on your own. I've run out of ideas. I've never seen this before, and I don't know of anything special about the poller running as cacti apart from the obvious permissions. Have you got any other plugins? Have you tried disabling them temporarily if your have? Do you have more than one php interpreter? I don't know.

I am also running monitor, thold
$plugins = array();
$plugins[] = 'thold';
$plugins[] = 'monitor';
$plugins[] = 'weathermap';
I will try to disable them
One workaround is to make maps incative to cacti and run the poller separate. But is the last option ;)

Except creating the weathermap.conf do i have to configure any other parameters? I bet i am missing something ;)

Disabling other plugins didnt fix the problem.

One last question:
Do u see something strange in "editor-config.php" ?
cat editor-config.php
<?php
// CHANGE: Uncomment one of the lines below and change it to point to the base directory
// of your cacti install to enable cacti support in the editor
// $cacti_base = 'C:/XAMPP/xampp/htdocs/cacti';
$cacti_base = "/var/www/cacti";

if(is_dir($cacti_base))
{
// include the cacti-config, so we know about the database
include_once($cacti_base."/include/config.php");

// CHANGE: this to be the URL of the base of your Cacti install
// it MUST end with a / character!
$config['base_url']='http://support.company.net/cacti/';
}

// where to look for config files. The directory must be readable
// AND writable by whatever user your webserver runs as.
// this name is correct if you are using the Cacti plugin
//
// NOTE: You MIGHT need to use the full path to the configs folder here,
// (it seems to depend on the PHP or OS version)
$mapdir= $cacti_base.'/plugins/weathermap/configs';
//$mapdir='configs';

?>

I tried these:

- Reinstalling everything didnt fix the problem
- Changing plugins order didnt work
-Using only weathermark plugin didnt work
- I created a bash file which will run manually weathemap (and changing all paths in confiig to absolute paths) . Same behavior, when i run from console works. From cron doesnt work.
- I tried to redirect cron output to a file. It doesnt get redirected either from bash file or dirrectly from the command...

My cron entries:
*/5 * * * * root /usr/local/bin/bind9-genstats.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 && /usr/bin/php /var/www/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1
While typing these lines i found the solution!!! AGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!
The correct line is:
*/5 * * * * /usr/local/bin/bind9-genstats.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 && /usr/bin/php /var/www/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1
wwithout the word "root"
AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Surely your cacti graphs would not have updated either?? you didn't mention that! :roll:
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

I installed phpweathermap and everything is working fine for me.

Just a lillte question. I am unable to permit a user to view the phpweahter maps. I checked the "view phpweathermap". the user can see the phpweathermap tab but not the graphs inside. I can see the graphs when a login in admin mode !
I performed a chmod 777 -R on the weathermap folder to be sure and still nothing to view for my user.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Go to Manage...Weathermaps, then click on the part that says 'admin' next to the map. In there, you change which users can see which maps. By default, only admin can see the maps.
