I am trying to install Cacti for the second time, but I still get the error "SNMP error" when I open the device I want to monitor. I searched the forum and read the manual. I even installed some patches.
I really don't know why it's not working. There is no difference when I remove/change the "Graph Templates" or "Data Queries".
The rra and directory is empty (except the placeholder).
When I do a normal snmpwalk, everything works fine.
The SNMP Username is not required as you're not running SNMP V3. Perhaps this screws up the snmp request.
As long as you get the red error, no graphs will be created

There is nog difference when I use a username or not.
You did run this snmpwalk from the command line of the cacti server? If yes, please check the /path/to/snmpwalk from Settings->Path Tab. Then, click on the cacti on the lower left. Find php-snmp support detection at the end of the displayed page and post this
