My Cacti works good but no graph drawn with my CISCO routers

Post by Sims »

Hi there !
Now my cacti seems to be all right , exept the graphs for CISCO Routers,
Indeed I can use SNMP Host for all my switch (HP2626 2650...) But not on any

of my CISCO Router....
I tried CISCO template too , but nothing :(
RRDFiles are created and the picture appears , but not any graph are
drawn....

Poller in low mode using cmd:

Code: Select all

04/21/2006 03:25:38 PM - RECACHE STATS: RecacheTime:10.2181

And here is the debug mode on attachment (a bit long :-? sorry)

Recaching is fine, that simply means cactid detected a change in interface / uptime count and reindexed it.

Which devices in that log file are you Cisco devices?
Are the cisco devices returning any snmp data? If not, there is your problem...

so... turn the logging level in cacti to debug for one polling cycle to reveal the OIDs cacti is trying to poll, which don't exist. Without looking, maybe try re-indexing your snmp interface query for Host[41].

I tried to re index my entry for host 41, but no success, the host come from down to up so I test it on only one of my CISCO device.
The 39, and dont know why now it works for this host only !
Here is the debug mode for my Host 39 before it works (see attachement)
When I try to do the same with my other device , no success , can't know why , but SNMP is polling for sure .

So post a debug polling cycle from Host[41]. You should immediately notice all the OIDs which are invalid it's trying to poll.

Are you able to run snmpwalk from the cacti server against host 43?

Please post a polling cycle containing output from host 43.

Here are the polling , on low mode and debug again ....
Thanks again for your help !
And for SNMPWalk I have something that could interest you I think....

After entering that :

E:\usr\bin>snmpwalk 10.x.y.z

Code: Select all

snmpwalk: No securityName specified
the same with the "-c communityname"

Isn't snmpwalk only for SNMP v3???

For myself I'll see if there is security name or not , cause I thunk this was only on v3 ...

snmpwalk works with any version. Try:

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public 10.56.8.254 .1.3.6.1.2.1.2

As you can see from the debug output, cacti is trying to poll all of those OIDs which the cisco device is saying is invalid. Possibly you need to reindex the snmp interface errors query (click the green circle) or maybe the router doesn't support that MIB. The snmpwalk will reveal all.

Each time you change an interface up/down on the router, Cacti needs to be reindexed. Possibly look into running poller_reindex_hosts.php nightly to accomplish this.

Looking in the cacti log file after debugging cycle, are the OIDs it's trying to poll which are invalid, different than before?
