0.8.1 disparity between graph preview and graph

Post by ranc0r »

I finally took the plunge into 0.8x last week and I have to say that cacti is a great looking well set up app.

I did notice one thing today, however.

My graph previews and actual graphs don't seem to agree.

Check this out:

vs. the actual graph:

Notice that in the preview that the highest peak is slightly over 2Mbps while on the actual grah the peak is around 1.44 Mbps.

I double checked that this wasn't a browser cache thing by forcing refreshes and checking from other machines.

Also, I'm noticing this on many of my graphs not just this one.

I'm running cacti 0.8.1 and rrdtool 1.0.42 on debian unstable. I have changed the default step from 5 minutes down to 2 minutes to more meet my needs.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

TIA.

I don't know where the problem occurs but it seems like your new on preview cacti uses your new 2 min sample and on normal graph "old" 5 min. The longer sample more flat the graph is.
