Upgrade 0.8.6x to 0.8.6h

Post by AndyJenkins »

Hi guys,

I've been using Cacti for some time - pretty happily so it seems. Anyway - tonight I noticed I've been getting the following entries in the logfile :

Code: Select all

04/17/2006 11:55:40 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Cell Failed "select data_template_data.rrd_step from (data_template_data,data_template_rrd,graph_templates_item) where graph_templates_item.task_item_id=data_template_rrd.id and data_template_rrd.local_data_id=data_template_data.local_data_id and graph_templates_item.local_graph_id=12limit 0,1"
Did a bit of searching, and found some patches that appear to fix. Figured I needed to be on 0.8.6.h - so upgraded to that. Followed the upgrade instructions (despite them being Cygwin orientated 8) ), and put in the new distribution. Went to <server>/cacti - and got the Cacti Console - ie, no prompt about upgrading.

I can't remember for the life of me what version I was on before, but according to About, it thinks I'm on 0.8.6.h - although I suspect that the tables have not been modified (if indeed there were any tables that needed to be modified). Could I have been on 0.8.6h previously???

For what its worth - everything still seems to be working - the poller is running, the devices are responding, and the graphs are still displaying. But I still have the "ERROR: SQL Cell Failed" error.

Any ideas how what I might have done wrong?

System info:
XP Pro (SP2)
Apache 2.055
PHP 4.4.0
MySQL 4.1.15

This is where you roll to your backup and check...

It's possible you were already on 0.8.6h, since you did not go through the upgrade page. Did you use the install instructions in my signature or on the cacti webpage?

That 'SQL Cell Failed' error you've got is fairly common it seems for some users. Can be ignored if everything is working properly.

The following patch resolves your issue.

Also, you can download the pre-patched files here:

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
