SNMP Port changes

Post by bennoo »

I have installed a few different devices
I have entered in a different port number for snmp eg 20300
but the quiries to the device are still on port 161
Is there a config file I can update?

Restarts do not seem to fix the error

FC 1
cacti 8.6g

Thanks

Elder cactid's are know to have this issue, but not cmd.php
What is the status of the devices from the Device List? If "down", please check Downed Host Detection

Please change the SNMP port for one single target. Then, please Clear Poller Cache (just to be sure). Now, run tcpdump (or ethereal or any sniffer of your liking) filtering for this very target. Please post the output.
If you're not familiar with tcpdump or the like, ask.

Interesting. Please, record the id of the host in question, then, with that information, run the following command:

select * from poller_item where host_id = <your_host_id>;

post your results.

Thanks,

Having this as well -

If I change the port per device - viewing the device under 'devices' shows SNMP error (when I change to a port that I know is not the SNMP port) Switching this to the alternate SNMP port for my host, shows the correct SNMP header info under devices - but when the poller runs, it's still querying on port 161 -

Im using cactid latested SVN -

Anyone else seen this?

Please verify that the port number in the poller_items table is correct. Your description seems odd btb. If the port is incorrect, simply clear the poller cache.

Oh, and be careful if your poller host is a Windows host. You will want to keep the snmp port at 161 for that device.
