Graph data empty when changed from cmd.php to cactid

Post by Land »

I hava cacti running normal when i first using cmd.php poller method. When I changed it to cactid, the graph breaks, have no tracfic data showed. When I run cactid.exe from cmdline. it shows as:
C:\cacti>cactid.exe
CACTID: Using cactid config file [cactid.conf]
CACTID: Version 0.8.6f starting
I also checked with "Clear Poller Cache", graph debug mode shows OK. cacit.log shows no error. Also, when i turned back to cmd.php method, traffic data not shows too. What should I do?

Seems I have time mis-match for cactid and rrd.

Well it looks like its collecting data. Do you see any CACTI2RRD entries in your log file?

When you run: C:\cacti>php.exe d:\apache2\cacti\poller.php under an admin account, the graphs (aka rrd files) are still not updated?

You fired up FileMon during a polling session (like the readme sticky suggests) and see if there are any problems?

I clear the logs often. I turn the switch to cactid again to test. Can not see CACTI2RRD in the logfiles.

Yes, the graph not updated.

Seems no problems in Filemon.

Seems the data is wrong, data shows 8 hours delay.

php programs get the real machine time, no time-zone adjust, so it is 8 hours early, rrdtools add 8 hours for adjust. cactid get the local time, rrdtools still add 8 hours for adjust, then cactid's data is showed 8 hours later. What can i do?

Weird it magically started to work. Wonder what changed...

Furthermore, weird that your time is off by 8 hours since it should be using the local system time.

Now it is very clear that cactid.exe put a wrong time in rrd files. this is the information
D:\apache2\cacti\rra>rrdtool info my_computer_traffic_in_86.rrd
filename = "my_computer_traffic_in_86.rrd"
rrd_version = "0003"
step = 300
last_update = 1142927280
1142927280 = 2006-03-21 15:48:00, that is 8 hours future. Should i input it into a bug tracking system.

Hmm, this does not make sense. I thought I might have seen somthing like this related to php 5.1.2, can you back off to something like php 5.0.4/5 and let me know if the problem goes away.

Thanks,

TheWitness
