Make a manual graph problem

Post by snowgasm »

Hi there,

I want to make a new graph via the "new graph" option in the upper left menu. I can add all of the data sources i want to view, the only thing is that i am not able to just add a data source, so that a DEF:x: gets added to the configuration, without viewing it in the graph as a line or area or something else.

So what i want is add a graph item so that a DEF:x line gets added, but without showing it in the graph, in any way, so no area, no hrule, no line, just the DEF definition line.

The reason of this is, i want to add the used and total space data source of a server, and then make a custom CDEF definition, which will give me the percentage of those two data sources. In the end, this is the only thing i want to display on the graph.

Any directions in the right way are welcome,

It is not possible to just enter a DEF data source. You will at least need sth like a LINEx statement with color "white" (and perhaps a CDEF multiplying this with 0 so it does not scramble the y-axis)

yes! that's indeed one of the solution, a simple CDEF which multiplies it by 0, thanks!
