Post install issues

So, thanks to a little patience and the excellent resources available on the forums (and that Installing Under Windows guide), I managed to get Cacti up and running on my local machine. I've created a device, some graphs, all that jazz. I'm still getting used to the interface, and how all the different sections work together. I just have a couple of questions:

1. Whenever the poller is run, I get some errors. I'm pretty sure this is a path issue, but I've checked and doublechecked my path statements and everything is cool.

2. This may be related to the first problem, but I'm having problems with the scheduled task actually running. It seems to run fine for awhile, then just stops.

3. I'll eventually using this to monitor a bunch of Win2k3 servers. Is it better to use SNMP or WMI? What are the benefits of each? (as you can tell, I'm new to most of this )

1) Make sure your MIBDIRS system variable is correct.

2) Running it as a user or admin account? What errors do you see when it stops working?

3) SNMP is a LOT faster since it doesn't have to do user authentication. WMI provides more information (natively) but is slower.

I had no idea about the images thing, sorry.

I sorted the scheduled task, and of course it was my own fault. I had the scheduled task set to run for only an hour and then stop.

Double checked the MIBDIRS variable and it's correct. I went to the directory in question to make sure the files were there, and noticed that each file has a .txt extension. Would that cause the error that I'm seeing?

And funny story: I'm so used to finding software that has little or no documentation that I jumped straight to the forums. Last night I discovered the huge and helpful documentation link, and it's helping me out drastically.

EDIT: My MIBDIRS directory doesn't have the files it's looking for....guess I'll go see what's up with my PHP install. I used Xampp as opposed to getting everything up and running manually, would that cause any issues?
