Looking to split the poller

Post by FreRange »

Hello all,

Is there a way to split the poller into 2 processes... One that runs every min. for some devices and a 2nd that runs every 30mins for other devices?

I only ask because I running cactid and my polling time is taking to long to graph 1min updates on my WAN connections plus all the other data I wish to collect on my remote systems (like disk usage). I wish to pull items like disk usage out so can keep my 1min poller up-to-date(sec) without killing my cacti box and have another poller that addresses all the other stats I wish to collect.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
David.

A feature like this is coming with cacti 0.9. Currently it's not supported, unless you do a lot of hacking.

Mind if I ask what the development timeframe is looking like? I was browsing the roadmap but I do not see any milestone on it.

Thanks
David.
