SNMP query of multiple OID's

Post by ezoltan »

Hi,

Is it possible to query multiple dissimilar OID's and place them into the same RRD?

In a situation where there are hundreds or thousands of devices with an average of 30-40 SNMP counters per host being monitored, I can see a real benefit: it is not easy to manage one RRD per counter per host.

It would also be a nice feature in Cacti to have the ability to define RRD store folders for each host if needed (they would default to the same location).

Has anybody managed to store dissimilar counters in one RRD file in the same datasource definition?

Thanks,
Zoltan

This is possible by using a Data input Method or a Data Query only. See last link of my signature for some ideas on this. But I suppose, this is not appropriate for you.

Dear Ivl,

Thanks for the suggestion. It may look silly but I can't find your signature and the link you mentioned.

Would you please post the link?

Dear Ivl,

Don't worry about the link. Initially, for some reason it did not show up in my browser. It is showing now *after* I posted my previous question.

Thanks,
Zoltan
