SNMP error

Post by max63 »

Hi,

I've just install cacti on my windows XP server and I haven't got data returned on all snmp query.
When I try ti execute poller.php, this is the answer

02/09/2006 10:18:55 PM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:9.1785 Method:cactid Processes:1 Threads:1 Hosts:2 HostsPerProcess:2 DataSources:5 RRDsProcessed:0

but I have got many cmd windows that appear and disappear on the screen but it's too quick to see anything.

Version of cacti : 0.8.6g
PHP 5.1.2
And all latest tool (net-smnp etc..)

See also an screen of a result query :

1) read this: http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747

2) Do you see the basic SNMP information at the top of the device screen?
3) Does the traffic or disk space usage SNMP queries return anything?

So, I've follow all the tuto on your link and not better.
On faq, it's write to execute this command to debug SNMP :

snmpwalk -v 1 -c public 127.0.0.1 .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2

And the answer on my serveur is :

Timeout: No Response from 127.0.0.1

So I think it's a snmp issue but I don't know how to fix it.
On cacti no reponse on all SNMP query is return even for traffic or disk space. However snmpd is running and I can see on my traffic log that it receive data but it don't response.
A capture is more clear ;) :

1) Possibly you haven't configured the net-snmp snmp agent.
2) Possibly you have a firewall blocking SNMP
3) Why did you go with the Net-SNMP snmp agent instead of the Microsoft one?
