Cactid problems

Post by dpoulsen »

Hi, I have a brand new install of Cacti 0.8.6h and Cactid 0.8.6g. I am having some trouble getting cactid to poll correctly. I haven't added any devices so right now it is just monitoring the defaults on localhost.

When poller runs in debug mode, I get what you see below. I've also attached debug output from <cactihome>/log/cacti.log.

Can anybody offer any suggestions? I am runnin debian stable (sarge).

Thanks
Dan

You must edit your Data Input Methods that include "perl" and change to the full path of the perl application. If it were windows, it would likely be "c:/perl/perl.exe".

Once you have made that change, you need to "clear" your poller cache.

Thank you very much. I had added the full path to the data input methods, but I missed the small yet critical step of clearing the poller cache. It is working now. Thanks!
