Upgrading Cacti on Debian Stable

Post by tbcacti »

I am running Cacti (ver. 0.8.6c-7sarge2) on a Debian Linux machine (Sarge Stable with 2.4.27 kernel). This is the newest version available with Sarge Stable. I would like to run a newer version, but I do not want ot go to Debian Sarge Unstable. Can I download a newer version from the cacti website, and install this? Will I break the file dependencies? Are ther other things that would need to be upgraded as well (mysql, php etc.)? iI would like to do this upgrade, so I can use some templates from a newer version of cacti.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thak you,
Paul

You might want to look at the Cacti package in Etch. It looks like it is 0.8.6h.
