Graphs don't appear in tree Mode but daily, weekly etc OK

I have just built a new system and after creating devices, templates etc and placing on a tree , no graphs for any devices appear on the tree after the polling period.
However if I drill down on one of them by clicking on the default icon - the recessed small x and graph name - to drill down to the daily,weekly, monthly - the graphs are OK ! They show data going back to when the device was created

I have deleted and added graphs/trees but problem still exists.
I have tried to clear poller cache but not sure how to tell if the call to utilities.php works. I have also rebuilt the poller cache.

Any ideas of what to try next ?

Check that your rrdtool version is correctly set in your cacti settings.

Im having this same problem, but I dont see any reference to RRD version in any of the settings pages.

What version of cacti are you running?

I have the same problem as well. I am using Cacti Version 0.8.6b.

0.8.6b does not support rrdtool 1.2.x. I suggest you upgrade your cacti installation, or down grade your rrdtool.
