Upgrade Cacti, Mysql, Rddtools, Net-snmp, Httpd Help Request
I would like to upgrade cacti to the latest version. I followed the guide ( http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/con ... How-To.pdf ), and am still using the versions listed here. Initially when I installed cacti I used newer program versions, but ran into problems. I would like to know what the prerequisites are for me to install cacti-0.8.6h.tar.gz. Am I safe to follow this guide ( http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/upgrade.html ) , and is there anything else you can recommend I do prior to the upgrade? I reviewed the forms looking for an answer to these questions, but was unable to find anything. I apologize if this sounds like a broken record.
httpd-2.0.52
mysql-4.0.21
php-4.3.8
rddtools-1.0.49
net-snmp-5.1.2
cacti-0.8.6.b ( not patched )
Fedora Core 2
Cheers,
Jason

Upgrade Cacti, Mysql, Rddtools, Net-snmp, Httpd Help Request
When I installed Fedora 4 with the latest version of mysql, rddtool, httpd, cacti, and net-snmp I got dependency errors. I recall when I installed mysql I got a glbic error, but that’s not helpful because I do not remember exactly what that error was.
Am I safe to install the never version of cacti with out updating mysql? Also does the new version of cacti depend on a certain version of rddtools and/or netsnmp? Have you upgraded cacti, and if so did you follow the same guide posted above?

Cacti is works very well with multiple version, get it installed, and let's work through problems from there.
Also, if you get errors installing any of the required components, resolve those before attempting to get cacti to work.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Hi, did you have to do anything else to get your CACTI install working from that old version? Im upgrading but having an issue with Cacti updating the RRD files afterward. I tried on the same machine and on diff machines. On the same machine, i just made a new database and web directory, still have the issue.
