snmpwalk collects data Cacti log shows no data

Post by mdneal »

I can do a snmpwalk command against a device and OID and it returns a value.

C:\net-snmp\bin>snmpwalk -v 1 -c dedsam9ap bsqdcups 1.3.6.1.4.1.476.1.1.1.1.4.2.0

iso.3.6.1.4.1.476.1.1.1.1.4.2.0 = INTEGER: 88

When I run the same OID inside CACTI, I get the following message in the CACTI log.

01/17/2006 10:59:43 AM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: c:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe update C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\rra\bsqdcups_output_load_4595.rrd --template output_load 1137513542:U

Any ideas?

snmpget and snmpwalk work just fine from the command line and return a the expected value. The same OID in CACTI does not return a value.

I may have misunderstood, but here is the DEBUG information from the first post.

That is not DEBUG. You must goto Settings->General and turn the logging level to DEBUG. Only do that for 1 pass of the poller. You can loose a drive volume if you let it run too long that way.

Solution :

Post by mdneal »

The OID in the data template was 1.3.6.1.4.1.476.1.1.1.1.4.2.0, I added a period to the front of the OID and it now works. .1.3.6.1.4.1.476.1.1.1.1.4.2.0

Thanks,
Mark
