POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 292 seconds exceeded.

Post by d4rthpimp »

I have recieved the dreaded error of Max runtime exceeded.
I am using the following software, _all_ compiled from source:
apache 2.0.55
cacti 0.8.6h + plus all patches
mysql 5.0.18
net-snmp 5.3
php 5.1.1
rrdtool 1.2.6

OS: Centos 4.2 2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp

cacti.log states:
(pasted from weblog)

Turn the polling level in cacti to debug (Settings | Polling level) for one cycle and paste the output of the actual log file (./cacti/log/cacti.log). If it contains WEBLOG entries, then don't bother posting since they just clutter up the log. Turn off WEBEVENTS logging and try again.

FIXED!

While trying to get the proper log file to post, I ended up hosing the log directory permisions. Then I was so pissed off, I decided to toss out the ../cacti/ folder and try it to do it over. I also dropped the old cacti database from mysql, patched cacti.sql and then reimported it. When I started over, I also realized that my pathways to my executables were originally wrong (i.e. /www/php/bin instead of /www/php/bin/php). The AGONY is over and the graphs are up and filling with data!
