No the real value!

Post by bloodrayne »

Hi guys,

i finally figured out how to add a line for FCS errors on my actual graph,

but the problem for the moment is that the value is always at "0" but if i do a "sh interface counter errors" i see 84 FCS errors.

If i take the OID polled by Cacti from Poller cache, and i make a snmpwalk from the commandline...i have 84 as output!!!!

But on my graph, it's always at "0"

What can make that to happen?

For your information, there's no more FCS errors, theses 84 FCS errors happened some months ago, and we didnt clear the interface counters just to make Cacti work with FCS...so it's our test interface for FCS...

Thanks for your appreciate help!

EDIT: Here the debug line:

Code: Select all

01/06/2006 12:56:45 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /var/www/html/newcacti/rra/xxx_xxx_xxx_x_traffic_in_10.rrd --template traffic_in:traffic_out:fcs_errors 1136570203:43545353:266213037:84
So you can see that the poll take the 84...

Suppose you have defined this value as a COUNTER. This definition will store only _differences_ to the previous value (e.g. as needed for ifInOctets). So if the value sticks to 84 on each polling cycle, there's no increase in FCS errors, so 0 is graphed

Unless you "tuned" or deleted the rrd file associated with that graph, the type did not change in the RRDtool file.

You simply changed the data template? This does _not_ change the settings of the existing rrd file! You'll have to run rrdtool tune (to keep existing readings) or to create a new one.

Ok, at the moment i'm in testing phase, so i just deleted them and recreate them...

Now i see a little Orange Line...and it's fine!

I want to know which configuration for my graph template will be the best if i want to see a line that follow the LAST poll!

Cause i put LAST on the CF Type for my LINE2 Graph Item Type, and it tolds me that:

Code: Select all

ERROR: the RRD does not contain an RRA matching the chosen CF

If i put MAX it put a little Orange Line after nothing...

It's not really tough, i just want a line that follow the LAST poll...

Is this possible?

Hi guys,

it's me AGAIN ;)

I want to apply my NEWLY created Graph Template but look at the Screenshot named NONE!!!

The fields "Graph Item Fields" are BLANK...

If i switch to a Cacti Template, look at the Screenshot named OK!!!

The fields "Graph Item Fields" are auto-fill with the correct information!!

How can i make that with my own graph template?

Thanks again!
