To add addtional features to CACTI

Post by ciscoking »

Dear All,

we are using the cacti from last 6 months and its very nice tool.
In order to make the cacti ,a complete network monitoring tool for our network,we want to add the Tracert,PING ..utlities.
Pls let us know ,if PING and TRACEROUTE utilites can be added to cacti NMS.

Thanks and regards

Cacti isn't an NMS...

But, there are many utilities that you can setup. Check out freshmeat.net for web based utilities.

Ping has been done, see NEW Advanced Ping Template Version 1.3 for Cacti 0.8.6g. But remember, that this is done with the cacti host as one endpoint. You may not be able to deduce the rtt between two othe rdevice of the net, only between both of them and the cacti system itself.
traceroute's routing infos are not that good to be graphed, so this has not been done yet
