FC4 install problem

I installed the rpm and made sure all the dependencies were installed. I get the following errors.

CACTID: Using cactid config file [/etc/cactid.conf]
CACTID: MYSQL: Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

Can anyone help?

Hello philip,

I'm not a Linux guy but I think that your SQL server daemon is not up and running. Have you checked this ?

If the server daemon is OK then maybe Selinux (http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=7759) blocks your connection attempts.
