cacti mysqli support

Post by jlsuzanne »

Hello All,

I can't make cacti 0.8.6g work today because it does not seem to support mysqli even if i can see some mysqli file in adobdb drivers directory.
Is there a way to make cacti support mysqli via configuration or ligh code modification.
I found in this forum that it was not supported in january.
is it still the case ?

Thx in advance,

jean-Louis.

Cacti only supports MySQL 4.x, next release of Cacti 0.8.6h will support MySQL 5.x. But support for MySQLi is not tested and I honestly don't know what it would take to make it work......

It should be transparent since we use ABODB and don't utilze the MySQL libraries directly. The only question is wether or not ADODB supports it.

in fact when i try to start cacti i got :
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/cacti/lib/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 338
php was not compiled with mysql but with mysqli.

You need to goto the ADODB website and see if MySQLi is supported. Then, if it is, you edit include\config.php and change the database type to, my guess would be, "mysqli".

Just changing to mysqli does not do it, although the ADODB documentation said it should. Well, anyway, good luck! If you find out how, don't forget to post.

changing in config.php mysql to mysqli solved the mysql_connect pb, however now when trying to create graphs i got a "GRAPH ACCESS DENIED"
even if the current user have the correct rights and rra and log directory as weel. It seems to be related do my mysql version which is not supported (5.0.16). Do you confirm ?
