Debian, cacti 0.8.6c - no graphs

Hello!

I made a fresh install of cacti 0.8.6c (Debian-package) and added some required packes: snmpd, etc.

Everything seems to log fine but no graphs are displayed (only the icon for missing image).

Confirm that the version of rrdtool you have installed, probably 1.2.x, is set correctly in the cacti settings.

Hello!

Version of rrdtool is: RRDtool 1.0.49

Path to rrdtool is set in webinterface of cacti (Settings) correctly.
Or do you mean another configuration-option?

Yes, in Settings->General->Required Tool Versions->RRDTool Utility Version, should match the version of RRDTool you are running.

Are you running apache in a chroot?

Also, do you have SELinux enabled?

Hi!

Thank you very much for your further answer...

The option "Settings->General->Required Tool Versions->RRDTool Utility Version" is not available in my version.
In "General" I can only configure: "Event Logging, Poller Specific Logging, SNMP Defaults (SNMP Utility Version, ...), Other defaults"

Perhaps it is helpful to check if the the link to the (broken) image is correct:

I am not running apache in chroot and selinux is not enabled.

I don't have access to your URL. But please click on the wrench next to the image to see the rrdtool graph statements. Copy them to cli and run from there. rrdtool will give you error messages...

Does the user that runs the poller have read/write access to the rra dir and the files within that directory?

I tried with user www-data (owner of directory and files), specified in /etc/cron.d/cacti also (before trying now as user root).

All relevant files in /var/lib/cacti/rra/ are updated every 5 minutes with poll.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Hi!

Thank you rony (and all) for all the help.
fast_cgi is not enabled - as I can see.

I made further tests today:
Reading/graphing with drraw (cgi-tool) works without problems. So polling and writing .rrd-files seem to work fine.

I checked configuration-table in database.
Is the following entry ok?

path_webroot  /usr/share/cacti/site
In webdirectory I made a symbolic link to this directory - webinterface works fine.

Is it necessary to specify the path to the directory with the .rrd-files? If yes, where?

I would greatly appreciation if anybody can give me further hints what to check...
