Cacti on Linux missing data from monitored windows server

Post by nw »

Hallo, i hope somebody can help me

I'm using Cacti on a SuSE Server an monitoring both Linux and Windows server.

The linux server are monitored well, the graph data is complete an the graphs looks fine

But the windows server dissapear frequently. Sometimes there is some data and next minute there is no data. The server are all intern and the timoute is nerver reached. Anyway i tried to set timout up, but it doesen't help. I also set the snmp settings on the windows servers, set them the cacti ip and the community name.

What i also found out, is that wenn i make a verbose querry then sometimes there are 0 items and 0 rows, and on the next time i click on verbose querry there are all items and rows there.

I'm new in catci administration and i'm glad if someone has any idea

thanks

1) install the patches for cacti. They work on both linux and windows. One of those patches address issues with the disk space scripts/template.
2) what windows os are you monitoring which is having problems?
3) Is this windows host on the LAN? Whats the average latency to it?

To your Questions I'm monitoring Winodws 2000 Server's and Unix Servers like SusE Ent. and Astaro and so on.The problems only exists on the windows servers. We are monitoring different server on lan and over vpn tunnel. but the problems are on the servers in our lan, they have a average latency of about 22ms
