re: mysql5 unsupported

Post by brian »

I had a machine running many mysql4 apps, cacti being one of them. For reasons not worth explaining, I had to move to mysql5 and I can't get cacti to work with it even when running sql_mode MYSQL40.

I tried svn-current on the 7th, which didn't work at all.

Is the mysql5 capable version looking like it will be released in the near future, or do I need to find another box to run mysql4?

When you tried the SVN version, I hoped you tired the branch_0_8_6 version and not trunk. Trunk is broken.. :)

Actually it was the trunk that I tried, because that's what the readme said I should do. I'll try the branch_0_8_6 this weekend.

OK, so I just tried branch_0_8_6, and what do you know, it worked :)

I did have to delete all previously existing graphs first :/
but oh well.

oh, and 95th percentile doesn't seem to work, but I suppose I can wait until the next release for that.

When I tried to create 95th percentile on an snmpv2 host, the interface selection would get greyed out.

Turned out this is because I left some unused data sources behind...
cancel the "not working" comment.

Mah bad.

Scared me....

Because I resently altered the 95th code to be Nth percentile.. :) Worried I had broken something.

Which would baffle me, because I check every character of code in those files.

Don't scare me again.... I like to keep my hair... :o
