Problem with install

Post by Lemmy »

Hiya!

I am stuck with install, it is in endless loop. It goes to screen where it founds paths, but after that it starts again.

PHP version is 4.3.8
apache is Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/2.0.50 (Mandrakelinux/7.4.101mdk) mod_ssl/2.0.50 OpenSSL/0.9.7d PHP/4.3.8

register_argc_argv On
register_globals On

Tried also restarting apache and mysql.

Installed with urpmi, but some files were missing on that install (scripts dir, cacti.sql), i copied those from 0.8.6g installation package.

and i tried also with
mysql:
update auth_users set password='' where username='admin'; suggested somewhere
but:
ERROR 1146: Table 'cacti.auth_users' doesn't exist

so what I do NOT understand.

ps. it might? be related that urpmi installed 0.8.6b as indicated in changelog, but is it so that it is enough that i wipe the cacti dir empty and install 0.8.6g again?

edit: I did infact delete old install, and reinstalled ..g version, but same thing occurs, and cacti.auth_users still do not exist.

SOLVED

Post by Lemmy »

Problem solved, me stoopid stoopid

So I updated to last version, but final solution was that I tried to have empty passwd for mysql user, when i added new user for cacti and real passwd for it (mysql) all worked :D ... except i had to reset password ...

Phew
