Hi,
my Cacti (latest version, all patches) works fine...except for one host:
when i create an new graph i get the message:
Created raph: ERX - Traffic - |query_ifName| (and ofcourse this one doesn't work)
although the mysql shows: (host_id, snmp_query_id and oid cutted off)
+--------------+---------------+------------+
| field_name | field_value | snmp_index |
+--------------+---------------+------------+
| ifIndex | 587202562 | 587202562 |
| ifOperStatus | Up | 587202562 |
| ifDescr | VLAN-SUB5/0.2 | 587202562 |
| ifName | VLANS5/0.2 | 587202562 |
| ifType | l2vlan(135) | 587202562 |
| ifAlias | | 587202562 |
+--------------+---------------+------------+
Why doesn't the |query_ifName| work for this host?
BTW: This happens for every kind of graph and interface i try to create.

Maik
This is what the created Graph looks like:

When you create a graph for the traffic, you need to do it through the device. When you're in the device, click on 'create graphs' in the top right corner. Then on the following screen, select the interfaces and graph type. click create. Then the graph titles should be properly filled out.

Thats exactly what i have done!BSOD2600 wrote:When you create a graph for the traffic, you need to do it through the device. Long version:
The node has about 180.000 interfaces. I deleted most of them and left ca. 20 interfaces for monitoring. When i then create the graph out of the device the thing described above happen!
It only happens with this node...all the others (ca. 30) work just fine.

Well cacti shouldnt be asking you for all that stuff.
Does a verbose query on the Interfaces return stuff for that device?

Solution found....but a strange one
Hi,
although the system supports SNMP V2 it does not seem to work properly:
When I let CACTI walk with V2 it gets the correct results but can't work with them (see above).
When I let CACTI walk with V1 it gets the correct results an can work with them. It even gets 64 bit counters with V1.
The MySQL tables look the same...could this be a bug in the XML somewhere?

What versions of everything are you using?
