Need to Monitor Printers

I need to monitor my W2K Print Server...

What is the best way to monitor? Use Printer's SNMP or or use W2K SNMP?

Can someone go about telling me how to do this?

What specifically do you want to monitor? Is it printer info, like page count? or is it print server info like CPU, memory usage?

Page Count, Jobs, CPU, Memory would be good starts...

I've posted a script that will provide you with printer page count and network traffic at:

I use SNMP to poll the printers directly using the RFC MIB2 OIDs. I think you can get printer jobs too, but you'd have to tweak my code to get it using my script. However, I'm not sure it will work for polling W2K's SNMP MIB.

Are the printers connected directly to the W2K print server, or are they connected directly to the network? What kind of printers are they?
