Afternoon,
Been trying now for days to get a index of the instances so we can get counter information for all selected instances…… (USING WMI / PL or VB script query (not snmp))
Has anyone been able to do this? Ive seen some on the site but they appear to have the same problem with no return if instances? Can someone please post up a sample template / query etc etc
Thanks
Rob
WMI index query HELP!!!!

WMI uses windows security. Try running the script under an admin account. You also might need to adjust the WMI security settings on the machine you're trying to poll. Google for it.

thanks....
Thanks for the reply, it was a security issue where we set for IIS to have the rights to perform the query.
Here are the details from another cacti post.

Open the Internet Information Services MMC applet.
Right click your cacti website and select properties.
Under application settings, create an application if necessary.
Change the application protection to High (Isolated).
Apply the chages to the web site.
Open the Component Services MMC applet.
Expand Component Services -> My Computer -> COM+ Applications
Right click on IIS-{default Web Site//Root/[the application name in use for the website]} and select properties
Click on the Identity tab.
In "This user" change the username and password to an account that has access to the WMI repository of your remote machines.
Apply the settings and dismiss the window.
Stop and Start the web site or Restart IIS.
Because of the security implications of these changes, I highly recommend that access to this website be limited to trusted individuals and additional access controls used to gain access to it.
