Hi all,
I've been using this extremely valuable board for some time now, but for once I can't find an answer to my problem, so I have to post.
We have 4 Cisco CSS Load Balancers that we want to monitor all sorts of stuff for, including CPU, memory, Traffic stats, and Services, Content Rules, etc. I found all the Rosetta Stone scripts and such, and found all the necessary OID's I need to use for my services and content rules.
I then went ahead and created a ton of data templates with OID's, then the graph templates, then added the graph templates to host templates. However, as soon as I added these graphs to my CSS devices, everything went crazy.
I've repeated this process 3-4 times to make sure I'm not crazy:
Cacti used to be able to monitor network traffic just fine. As soon as I add all my extra data and graph templates, suddenly network traffic monitoring breaks and Cacti starts to log:
11/21/2005 01:20:20 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[75] DS[1125] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: ...
11/21/2005 01:20:20 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[75] DS[1125] SNMP: v2: mycss.blah.com, dsname: traffic_in, oid: .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.11, value: U
I can see in the log file that JUST before adding all the extra graphs, it was getting results just fine. In addition, I can see the data just fine in the graph until that moment, then it starts turning all gray.
As well, about 90% of the graphs I've added have the same exact issue! Only a few of the service and content rule OID's work, the rest all get that "Result from SNMP not valid." error with an output of "U", however when I do an SNMPGET from the same machine at the shell, the output is fine.
We're running Cacti .8.6g, and all of our other graphs work fine, it's just this strange behavior we get for our Cisco CSS devices once we add graphs for all of our services and content rules.
Can anybody tell me what's up? Is this some sort of bug in Cactid?

This would be possible. There is no general point that this should not workryanjwh wrote:...
