LDAP query non-anonymous

Post by CharlieB. »

i set authentication to my Win2k3 LDAP but it won't authenticate. i believe the issue is that our LDAP requires authentication before access. Is there anyway to provide a usr & pwd to authenticate to LDAP so it can do a user query.?

0.8.6 does not search LDAP, so that's not happening.

You probably have a misconfigured DN, what is it? or your user in the AD doesn't have a "Principal Name" defined.

LDAP query

Post by CharlieB. »

Ah Ha! i left off the <username> part. I thought that was just a place holder. It queried my username and asked me for a password. Thanks.

LDAP query

Post by CharlieB. »

Another odd problem but i have seen it before with other sowtware. The User Management window does not like my LDAP username because it has a period in it. (firstname.lastname) When i try to make any changes to my name it failes and asks me to check my username but there is nothing wrong with my username. If i take out the period it works.

You're right. I verified this happens to me too, with a test.user account name. Create a bug report in bugs.cacti.net

Um.... I thought I fixed that..... Um......

Submit a bug, I will make sure it's fixed in 0.8.6h before it's released in the next few weeks.
