I've made a Data Query, using an XML that gets a number of sessions on my Alteon load balancer. This Data Query is working fine.
I also created a Data Template and Graph template, and associated this Data Query to my Alteon device. The query returns the expected result.
I created a graph using the associated query and the Data Source item and Graph got created as expected.
However, there's no graphing; the debugging sais:
ERROR: opening C:/wwwroot/cacti/rra/alteon_application_switch_diegem_currsess_127.rrd': No such file or directory
Indeed, the file does not exist and doesn't get created. I also tried a manual poller.php with no difference. I have plenty of other working graphs, so it is not a basic problem at first sight..
The Data Source debug looks allright:
c:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe create \
C:/wwwroot/cacti/rra/alteon_application_switch_diegem_currsess_127.rrd \

When I look into the Cacti log, I can't find an entry for the Host and Data source, so it looks like it is not used at all.
I should see something like:
11/03/2005 12:46:09 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[33] DS[127] SNMP: v2: dgm-alteon.mycompany.com, dsname: CurrSess, oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.1872.2.5.4.2.4.1.2.79, value: xxxxxxx
As I said, not even an error in the log for such Data Source.
I have other Data Sources for the same host which are working and are being logged fine. The Data Source is marked as Active too.
So where do I look now ?

Found it. In the Data Query, Associated Graph Template, Associated Data Template the Data Source was selected, but the box on the right hand side was not ticked.
I learned something.
