All,
I have been a user of Cacti for sometime. Love the app. Great job to all who have contributed.
I recenlty installed 0.8.6g and I find myself discouraged that it no longer works out of the box as it has for previous versions.
I receive an SNMP Error when attempting to add (by IP and FQDN) for Cisco Router device, or any other object with Interfaces.
I have confirmed that I can walk the System and Interfaces MIB from the CLI using NET-SNMP. Verbose debug query gives me no values returned.
I installed the patches as advertised on the site, which worked great initially. I was now able to see the interfaces, and add graphs. Once I added the Object to the Graph tree, however, I was no longer authorized to view the Graphs page.
I receive the following error:
***********************************************
You don't have permission to access /cacti/graph_view.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request
*********************************************
I have tried everything I can think of to fix this issue. I uninstalled Cacti, and reinstalled. (including datbase/table creation)...now I am back to the orginial problem with the SNMP Error.
I have searched the Message board, and it would seem several people are having similar problems. However, what I don't see is a fix.
Welcome suggestions from anyone.
Chris

Somethings up with permissions on the cacti files, that does not allow the web server to read them.
And you also have that problem with the error documents for the web server.

Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. It is no different than "before" the patch. NOTE: This only happened after installing an "Official Patch"
http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... rror.patch
If I reinstall, or move my old cacti directory structure back in place, then SNMP error returns, and graphs view works...no data to look at but it works.

That patch should not have given you that error....
Check you apache error logs, and post the parse error, if you got one.
