Sorry, forgot to post in here.

For this particular user, he had problem with corrupted indexes in mysql. You need to run a check/repair on the cacti database. That will probably resolve your issues.

Yes, looks like I have the very same problem. CHECK on all tables in the cacti database gives me "OK", but OPTIMIZE returned OK for all tables except the following two:

graph_templates_item: Found block that points outside data file at 52644
graph_tree_items: Found block that points outside data file at 1416

However the problem persists, I still have no data sources listed for a graph.

Any suggestions?

Reindex those tables after you run a repair on them.

I still have the same problem... Even installing cacti 0.8.6g didn't help. I even completely erased the database, deinstalled cacti and then made a fresh install, but problem is still there!

cacti 0.8.6g (fresh install)
MySQL 4.1.15
PHP 4.4.0

As you can see on the screenshot I've attached, even default graph which comes with new install has this problem. Please help, I do not know what to do, if even installing from scratch doesn't help.

RU Backing up your database? If so, you may have to restore a previous version to recover. I'll leave this one to Tony for now as he should be receiving a database dump.

Unfortunately, no. But how it could help, if I completely deleted old database, created new one (

Code: Select all

mysqladmin create cacti
) and installed cacti from scratch. I guess there's some problem either with my OS or cacti incompatibility with MySQL or PHP.

I have never tested MySQL 4.1.15. I don't suspect that this is the problem though.

I'm using 4.1.14 without any issues. 4.0.24 was Ok as well. I know a user who upgraded to 4.0.26 and has had problems though.

Problem solved

Post by exec »

Ok, guys, problem solved! The problem was in MySQL. I restored default MySQL configuration and everything returned to normal. After that it wasn't hard to track configuration changes. I do not know why or how, but here's the MySQL configuration line that causes problems:

Code: Select all

init-connect="SET NAMES cp1251;"
When I remove this line, everything works perfect. It seems, that cacti versions prior to 0.8.6f were not prone to this problem. Perhaps developers could comment on this?
