Installation of mysql and creating cacti database

Post by Fallout »

I reached the step in the instructions to install mysql on a Win 2000 box.

At step five goes all well with :

5. shell>mysqladmin --user=root --password create cacti

But I get stumped at step 6.

6. shell>mysql --user=root --password cacti < c:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti

I get a error message after this step "Access is denied"

Can I get some help on this,i'm a little lost.

Thanks.

Can you actually read the file in c:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\cacti.sql ?

Well where did you extract the cacti files to? Thats where you need to import the cacti.sql file from. I suggest you read the updated guide in my signature.
