Accuracy of 95th percentile?

Post by foxtratz »

Hello Im new to Cacti and I used this one since it computes 95th percentile. However through my browsing I walked into a forum which says 95th percentile of Cacti is not accurate? Im still new to the 95th percentile concept is this true?

Depends on what you are doing. The 95th is accurate for single interfaces, but as soon as you get into creating aggregate graphs (more than on interface), it stops producing correct results. I have written a patch that fixes this and I can make it available to you if you need it.
