HI All,
After i installed and configured my cacti0.8.6, I opened my browser to proceed with the login/config steps... after i double checked that all the path variables are in correct order, i clicked finish and it brought me to the login screen.
As stated on the manual, the userid is admin and password is admin. After I logged in, i was redirected to the same page !!...I tried over n over again, even resetting the password of admin, its still the same ...
any cure ?

Do you get a red error message saying "invalid password/username"?
If not, you have an issue on the server with sessions not working.
Check that you have sessions loading in your php.ini. Also, check that you have correct permissions on the directory where session files are suppose to be stored.

actually i kept on keying in "admin:admin" for username n password. ..it doenst give me the red error unless i typed in another password or username ...
according to the manual, its suppose to prompt me to change the default admin password ...but it didnt ..and instead, it went back to the same login page again....
how do i go about it ? could it be a cookie problem ?

Yes, you are encountering a cookie/session issue. Make sure that you have sessions enabled in php and that the webserver can write to the directory where session files are suppose to be stored.
