All Hosts starting with the letter 'A' have stopped graphing

Post by chadd »

All of my data sources/hosts with data sources, starting with the letter 'A' have stopped graphing.. Has anyone ever seen this problem, or know how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Please clarify: are the graphs empty but do appear? Or do they not appear? What about data sampling?
Please enter DEBUG mode (goto "Settings" ...) and wait for one single run to complete. Have a look at <path_cacti>/log/cacti.log. If this does not help, please post the log.

Sorry, my fault.. I decided to change the data template that all the devices used, and I only got through the letter 'A' in my changes.. That was like a week ago, and I got caught up in a bunch of stuff and forgot that I had done it. So, the problem is not so nebulous. Now, why would changing your data template on a data source cause the graphing to stop (and yes the graphs are there, just showin NaN for the current/average/total/etc.. values). My idea in doing this was to take advantage of the new Thold templates in the latest release of cigamit's thold module. Oh, and when I changed the data template back to the original interface - traffic template, it started graphing again.. Do I need to delete the hosts and all the associated graphs/data sources and recreate them with the new templetes, or is there a way to change the data template? Thanks again.

The Template Name. I created new Data Templates so that I could use the auto threshold functions in the latest "thold" plugin, by Cigamit. The only thing different from the "Interface - Traffic" template was the name. I just did a "Duplicate" on it, and changed the name of the new one to reflect the speed/type of interface. When I changed them back to the default, "Interface - Traffic" template, they started graphing again. I would like to be able to change them if you can lead me in the right direction. Thanks for the reply.

What if you try creating it from scratch, instead of duplicate.

This might be a bug, with duplicating a template.

I created a new data template from scratch, and applied it to all the interfaces that applied (~50) and all of them are still graphing. It does seem to be as you said - a bug with the duplicate feature. Thanks for the help.

I had this sort of issue after duplicating,
but now i got it again by just adding a "Data Source Item" to a data template and saving it.

maybe it's not bound to a duplication bug specifically..

Well, the same problem is back. I recently upgraded Cacti, and when I did all the interfaces I previously change the data template on stopped graphing. It could be a larger issue, because this was a new template - not a duplicated template. I changed them all back to the default "interface - traffic", but it doesn't appear that they are going to start graphing again. I will continue to trouble shoot...

Can you post the debug output for the graph?

This is all it says:

RRDTool Says:

OK

Sorry for the long delay, I didn't have a chance to go back to the other templates until today. The current values are correct, just the graph is not updating... I am at a loss on this one.

Please goto the graph display and click on the graph to display all 4 timeframes. Then click on the wrench next to one of the graphs and post the rrdtool statements you'll find there
