Problem with Install (slightly long)

Post by isquish »

Hi Folks

I am 99% sure I've missed something but I can't see what I'm missing if you know what I mean.

I've followed the installation guide for windows and I'm installing to:

Windows 2003 server sp1.

I've got the following installed;
Cacti-0.8.6f
Cactid-0.8.6e
PHP 5.0.5
MYSQL 4.1.14
rrdtool 1.2.11

the output of php-m is;

C:\php>php -m

I have the task scheduler sorted, I have the database bit sorted and in. My cacti is installed under c:\intetpub\wwwroot\cacti\

I have got the paths added in to the environment settings. I have the php5isapi.dll installed under filters....

The problem is I get no response from the server at all. If I browse to index.php myself and launch it in Internet Explorer it just sits there and times out with a (server/page could not be found)

I know I am missing stuff but I have combed the document and I can't see what I am missing!

Thanks for any and all help you can offer

1) I've noticed a few people having problems with php 5.05, might try 5.04.
2) Does IUSR have read rights to all the cacti files?
3) Did you enable the php web extentions IIS?
4) You happen to be using a virtual directory and have its settings misconfigured?

I think I'll drop down to 5.04 and see if I can get it working....

Image

This is what I see which doesn't look right - the location of the file is correct - it's sat their happily enough but not loading

Image

When I check environment variables it's set as it should be according to the install guide. Should I specify the verbs to fire on?

Thanks for all help you can offer - I checked Iusr rights and they're fine - it's almost as though the server doesn't actually think it's running a web site. The w3svc is running however... :-?

I'll try ripping php5.05 off and sticking 5.04 on

Thanks for the help so far.

I had the exact same problem with the php4iaspi.dll not loading a while ago. The cause was a corrupt file system. Try running chkdsk c: /f.

Did you enable php in the web extensions portion of IIS (it's separate from the website) ?

Yeah I have enabled the extensions and the file system is fine o_O

I think php 5.0.4 is the next step

I am running PHP 5.0.5/Windows 2003 SP1/IIS6.0 with no problem.

I think you need to go trough your IIS set up once again.

At the begining of the installtion I recall having some set up issues, but after carefull checking I got everything up and runnig with PHP 5.0.5.

Also it seems to bee important to stop w3svc service and start it again whenever you change your IIS config.

From command: net stop w3svc and after net start w3svc.

Hope you got Cacti up and runnig.
