Scripted distribution of Microsoft Agent

Post by adrianmarsh »

Anyone already have a scripted method of installing the MS Agent, either by logon script or remotely? If not I'll look into it more myself and post something up.

Is it the same agent in use on XP, 2000, 2003 or three seperate versions? (I imagine the latter).

I don't know of any automated way of installing SNMP and I believe they all use different versions of files.

XP, 2000, and 2003 all have the same installation of SNMP. If you want to see how it's installed, look at c:\windows\inf\netsnmp.inf. If you don't know how to understand how to read an inf file, do what BSOD2600 always recommend: Google is your friend!

While they might use the same install inf file, I'm sure they will use slightly different versions of files. So one would need to find an automated way (on google) how to deploy it.
